The Olympus MU-1 and MB-155 are a two-part system designed to ensure the integrity of Olympus flexible endoscopes. The MB-155 Leak Tester is a device that connects to an endoscope to pressurize it with air. The MU-1 Maintenance Unit provides the regulated air source for the MB-155 and assists with other reprocessing functions, such as alcohol flushing of the air/water channel.
This combined system is a critical tool for reprocessing, as it allows for the pre-cleaning detection of pinholes or other hidden leaks in the endoscope. By detecting damage before fluid exposure, the MU-1 and MB-155 help prevent costly repairs and maintain patient safety by ensuring the scope’s waterproof seal is intact.
